Robin Phillips is employed with Gallia-Vinton Education Service Center who is partnering with the State Support Team Region 16 to serve the school districts in our area. Robin is working with school districts that are participating in OLI4, focusing on school improvement and serving as an external evaluator for afterschool programs. State Support Team Region 16 serves school districts in Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington counties.
The Mission of the State Support Team Region 16 is to build the capacity of local and related education agencies to engage in systemic and sustainable improvement that impacts educational outcomes for students.
The purpose is to help the district leadership:
· Improve teacher instructional effectiveness
· Distributed leadership and ownership
· Focus the core work of the school.
The State Support Team helps school districts work to improve student achievement by having structured conversations about goals, strategies, and research based instructional practices that move improvement efforts forward on behalf of all learners.
