Gallia-Vinton ESC afterschool programs have been recognized with an outstanding award for College and Career Readiness. The award was given at the 21st Century Community Learning Center Summit entitled, Embark on a Fantastic Voyage: Discover the Treasures of Afterschool!
A Career Palooza was held during the summer for 7th and 8th grade students in collaboration with the Buckeye Hills Career Center. Students were able to experience "hands on" careers taught by licensed career-technical instructors. Various local and state job sites were also visited by students.
Rashel Fallon accepted the award from the Ohio Department of Education on behalf of the afterschool programs at 7 middle schools.
