High School GAISE Training for Oak Hill, Gallia County, Wellston and Jackson Math teachers
Dr. Shockley, Superintendent of the Gallia Vinton ESC, in collaboration with Robin Phillips, Administrative Assistant of the ESC, coordinated a meeting of sixteen (16) high school teachers with Professor Jerry Moreno of John Carrol University.

Jerry Moreno, a professor at John Carroll University, traveled to Gallia-Vinton Education Service Center to provide insight into statistics and probability standards using the Guidelines for Assessment and Instruction in Statistics Education (GAISE) Report with high school teachers from South Gallia, River Valley, Jackson, Oak Hill and Wellston.  Teachers explored the statistics and probability standards using the GAISE model, interacted with questions and discussions, performed hands-on activities, modeled data, and discussed the results.

Each year, the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics recognizes outstanding teachers, professors, emerging leaders and friends of mathematics.

Robin Phillips, Gallia-Vinton ESC consultant, commended Jerry Moreno and Jeff Strawser for their awards at the recent OCTM Awards ceremony.
