On March 19, 2024, Annika Moore, a math consultant for the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, led a regional math training focusing on high-quality instruction (HQI) andstudent-centered learning. HQI aims to foster studentcommunication, reasoning, and problem-solving skills while nurturing positive attitudes towards math. Participants, including leaders, teachers, and ESC consultants from various districts such as Gallia County, Gallipolis City, and Chillicothe City Schools, discussed adopting research-based practices and curriculum to support this shift.
