The Gallia-Vinton ESC, in collaboration with Buckeye Hills Career Center, the University of Rio Grande and the Evans Christian Outfitters has completed another successful year of Summer Camps.  The goal of Power Camps is to encourage children in the middle schools to examine different career opportunities through hands-on experiences.  This year, in addition to our Career Palooza which exposed students to twelve different careers, we had a Music and Art Camp and a Lewis and Clark Camp.  In total, we had around 200 students per day, Monday, June 10th, through Thursday, June 14th.  On Friday those students who had perfect attendance were rewarded with a trip to King's Island to have FUN and EXPLORE the sciences involved in the rides and program exhibits.

    Schools that participated were Christian Life Academy,  Jackson City, Vinton County, Oak Hill, Gallia County, Gallipolis City and Wellston Middle School.    Students were accompanied by teachers from their home schools.
