On October 25, 2024, Katie Kilgour, Adolescent Literacy Specialist, and Katie Chaney, Regional Literacy Specialist, facilitated the first regional Literacy Leaders Network for the 2024-2025 school year. The network is centered around a common problem of practice and provides time for literacy leaders in the region to convene and discuss the challenges and successes of implementing best literacy practices. This year’s problem of practice was to develop a collective, but adaptable walkthrough tool so that everyone knows what literacy-rich classrooms look like, regardless of the reading curriculum the district has chosen.  The next Region 16 Literacy Leaders Network meeting will be held at SST 16 on January 24 from 9:30-12:30, with optional afternoon networking.
