We’re excited to announce that 8th grade Vinton County Middle School students Kevin Cosgray and Sophie Morris have been awarded a 2024 grant from the Vinton County Community Fund and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio’s I'm a Child of Appalachia Partnership Fund!
Their student-led raised flower bed project at VCMS has been selected as one of this year’s youth-led initiatives. Guided by mentors Mrs. Radabaugh, Quest Afterschool Site Coordinator, Mrs. Salyer, Program Manager, and Mrs. Macke, the project aims to foster positivity and integrity while adding a touch of beauty to the school. Kevin expressed their hope to establish a club within the afterschool program to continue enhancing their school and spreading positivity.
Additionally, Mrs. Radabaugh and Mrs. Salyer have received funding for the Viking Quest Student and Family Meal Support Initiative. These funds will be used to support Family Engagement Events and positive youth development initiatives at Vinton County Middle School.
Congratulations to Kevin, Sophie, Mrs. Radabaugh, Mrs. Salyer, and Mrs. Macke for their outstanding efforts to improve and connect their school community!
