Welcome New Employees to the Gallia-Vinton ESC!

Thad Haines will be working with local educators to ensure a smooth transition into Ohio Teacher Evaluation System 2.0 and supporting districts as they implement their own Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. He recently became a CPI Trainer. Thad obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Ohio University. Earning his Superintendent’s license from Morehead State University, Thad boasts 13 years of experience in the classroom and 13 years in educational administration. One of Thad’s platforms is the use of technology in schools, previously securing grant monies to purchase technology and presenting on utilizing technology to enhance classroom instruction. Thad will also be a RemotEDx Technology Coach. 

Julie HainesJulie Haines will be serving new teachers and their mentors in the Resident Educator Program in addition to writing grants and compliance reports for local schools and other government entities. She will provide support for the Extended Learning and Recovery plans. Julie possesses a Bachelor of Science in English and History from the University of Rio Grande, a Master of Art in English from Ohio Dominican University, and a Teacher Leadership Endorsement from Concordia University. Julie previously has 21 years of experience in the 9-12 classroom, as well as experience teaching at the collegiate level. Formerly, Julie worked for the University of Rio Grande in community relations and admissions.  Her professional presentations have taken her across the region, the state, and even the world! 

Lisa WalkerLisa Walker will be contributing administrative support in business operations, fiscal processing, and facilitating media productions.  Lisa obtained an Associate’s Degree in Applied Business from the University of Rio Grande, a Bachelor of Science in Comprehensive Business Education, also from the University of Rio Grande, and a Master of Science in Integrating Technology in the Classroom from Walden University. Before becoming a team member at the Gallia-Vinton ESC, Lisa taught 26 years in business, including courses in personal finance, business and marketing, computerized accounting, and media productions. A former Ohio University Communication Fellowship participant, she also served as the senior class advisor, student health council advisor, and media productions advisor. 

Katie KilgourKatie Kilgour will be providing Positive Behavior Intervention Support training to local educators, working with new teachers and teacher mentors in the Resident Educator Program, and providing support for the Extended Learning and Recovery plans. Katie has a  Bachelor of Science in Language Arts Education as well as a Master of Art in Reading Education and a Teacher Leader Endorsement from Ohio University. Prior to joining the Gallia-Vinton ESC, Katie taught language arts for 16 years. She has been a teacher mentor, a member of her school’s building leadership team, and a member of the state’s standards review committee. She has presented at the Ohio Council for Teachers of ELA Conference, and she has been previously published in the Ohio Journal of English Language Arts.
