The Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools (CORAS) held a luncheon for 50 outstanding elementary teachers at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center. Included in the list of honorees were local teachers Lorrie Hamon (5th grade math, West Elementary), Tiffany Barry (3rd grade, Southwestern Elementary) and Angie Seitz (preschool, Southview Elementary). Dr. James Mahoney, State Senator Jay Hottingeron, and State Senator Matt Huffman spoke about teachers as leaders.
