Workshops Provided by Ruby Payne
In August 2021, Dr. Ruby Payne visited several local school districts including Gallia County Local, Jackson, and Chesapeake. She led over 500 educators in a lively workshop based on her award-winning book, Emotional Poverty in All Demographics. Dr. Payne will return and present to Gallipolis City at a later date. Dr. Payne provided teachers and administrators with a number of strategies to calm students and motivate better behaviors. During her presentation, Payne provided current research to help educators better understand the reasons why some students behave the way they do and why discipline strategies work with some students and not others. Dr. Payne’s research included entertaining facts about the differences between male and female brains.
