The Gallia-Vinton ESC had a very special visitor this month. On a rare pre-Christmas trip from the North Pole to Ohio, Santa Claus dropped into the ESC and spoke to employees about spreading Christmas cheer. During his visit, ESC employees gathered around as Santa shared the true story of a rich man who wishes to repay a debt of kindness to the citizens of a rural Appalachian town. Every year at Christmastime, this man returns to this town and tosses silver packages to children who wait by the tracks. The story comes full circle when a character, who hopes each year that his silver package contains a toy doctor’s kit, moves back to his hometown to practice medicine.
