As part of his effort to support literacy in Ohio schools, Governor Mike DeWine and several of his staff visited Vinton Elementary on Friday, March 31, 2023. During his visit he observed classroom activities aligned with the Science of Reading and conversed with teachers and administrators about the impact structured literacy has had on student learning. Recently Governor DeWine signed the Governor's Literacy Challenge to improve reading proficiency by establishing partnerships that encourage reading and developing strategies to increase family involvement in literacy development.
