Dr. Denise Shockley superintendent of the Gallia Vinton ESC is shown at Wellston High School after the completion of the improvements to the library.
Students, along with Wellston City Schools Superintendent Karen Boch, are shown enjoying the new changes that were made possible by the "Innovative Approaches to Literacy" grant.
Other schools that also received improvements were Gallipolis City Schools - Rio Grande Elementary, Green Elementary, Gallia Academy Middle and Gallia Academy High School, and Wellston City Schools - Bundy Elementary, Wellston Intermediate, Wellston Middle School and Wellston High School.
Mr. David Moore and Mrs. Deanna Tribe were the ESC Consultants who worked on the implementation of the grant and assessed the success of the project once it was completed.
In addition to improving the book choices available for students to select in the library, outdated materials were purged, and technology was added to assist in the research by classroom teachers and students through the use of Chromebooks, Projectors, and TV's.
