February’s Math Network meeting focused on universal screeners, including student interviews. Edie Bostic, literacy lead for Gallia County Local Schools, shared how her district is using screeners in literacy that align to the guidance in Ohio’s Dyslexia Handbook. Math leaders and teachers looked at various screeners for math and found the prescriptive information valuable. Additionally, Carey Roberts, SGHS Math Modeling and Reasoning teacher, also presented a task that her students recently completed. She was excited about her students’ engagement, critical thinking, and perseverance during the execution of the lesson.
