The 4th annual Drug Free Clubs of America STAND (Students Taking Action Not Drugs) rally and band showcase was held at the Gallipolis City Park on October 11, 2023. Four hundred and sixty-one members from the Buckeye Hills Career Center’s STAND Chapter were in attendance as well as chapters from Jackson, Oak Hill, River Valley, South Gallia, and Vinton County High Schools. Ellen McCabe, BHCC Dean of Partnerships and DFCA Chapter Advisor, reminded all present of the significance of living drug-free lives.

The event also featured a band showcase, with outstanding performances from marching bands of Gallia Academy, Jackson, Oak Hill, River Valley, Vinton County, and Wellston High Schools. Each band was presented with a trophy, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. Since the rally, the club is now over 470 members strong.
