The Ohio Gifted Advisory Council met on September 20, 2023, to provide updates from the Office for Exceptional Children and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). Among the key topics discussed were legislative changes, the transition from ODE to Department of Education  and Workforce (DEW), and the forward-looking initiative Future Forward Ohio. Additionally, there was an in-depth review of Ohio’s strategic plan. Gallia County Local administrator Denise Toler and GVESC Assistant Superintendent Emily Crabtree will be representing the Southeast region of the state as they will serve on the 38 member Gifted Advisory Council.
