GVESC Employee Presents at National Conference
Julie Haines presented at the first annual Teaching The Great Gatsby Conference held in Montgomery, AL. Sponsored by the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum, a former residence of the author and his wife, the conference was held at Huntingdon College and was attended by teachers from all over the United States. The presentation, titled "That Vast Obscurity Beyond the City," focused on using local literature to increase relevance and engage with primary sources when studying the novel. She would love to share the resources and practices she learned with any area ELA teachers who use the novel in the classroom. Reach out to her at [email protected].
