The Addaville Elementary School Community Learning Center was developed through collaboration between Gallia-Vinton Educational Service Center, Gallia County Local School, and community partners to serve elementary school students from Addaville Elementary School and their families. Our program title is BOBCATS. In addition to the elementary school program, there will be adult/family programs scheduled each semester at Addaville Elementary School.
The BOBCATS Learning Center of Gallia County Local Schools is located in Addaville Elementary School’s building.
A variety of enrichment programs will promote social development and academic success for students, as well as provide opportunities for families to engage in meaningful activities. The scope of supervised activities may include:
- tutoring services
- literacy and math education programs
- sports, games, and recreational activities
- family events and activities
cooking and creation - art, music, dance, theater, and other cultural education activities
- science and technology education programs
- service learning activities
- expanded library hours
- drug and violence prevention programs
- wrap-around services
- problem-solving skills
- career exploration activities
The BOBCATS Learning Center provides students with a before and after school learning program that is an extension of the regular school day. It is staffed with licensed tutors and teachers whose main objectives are to help students complete homework for the day, study for tests, carry out planned interventions, practice targeted skills, and/or provide a quiet atmosphere for independent reading. All students receive a healthy snack before moving into grade-level learning centers. Once student complete homework/intervention, each participates in at least one extension activity, as time allows.
